Contribute

Do you have a way with words, take beautiful photos, or shoot video? We are ALWAYS looking for creative contributions–both for one time submissions and ongoing gigs.

Story Tellers

We want to share YOUR recorded stories on Season 3 of the Femme Cyclist podcast. What kind of stories? I don’t know–you tell us!

A story could be: how cycling has impacted your life, a race you completed, your first bikepacking trip, a person you met, a lesson you learned, a cruiser ride on the beach, an organization you started. I could go on, but I think you’ve got the idea.

We’re welcoming to ALL voices–BIPOC, gay, trans, overweight, underweight, those with disabilities, young, old, those new to cycling. You name it, we want your story.

These episodes will be a little different than anything we’ve done in the past.  They will be your solo recorded voice telling your story–no interview.

Guidelines & Info:

  • Stories should be between 5 minutes and 20 minutes long.
  • Be real!  These don’t have to be perfect.  We can do some basic editing after the fact to improve audio quality, remove pauses, bloopers, interruptions, etc–but imperfections are to be expected.  Use humor (if appropriate).  Talk to the audience like they’re your friend.
  • It may help to write or outline your story/thoughts ahead of time.
  • Record in a quiet place.  (A closet works well).  If you have a microphone, use it. If not, the voice recorder on your phone works pretty dang well too.
  • Finished audio should be a .mp3 file.
  • Send to kristenbonkoski@bpcole.or as an attachment, or if the file is too big, send a link to a dropbox or google files location.
  • To help us promote the podcast episode, send a photo or two of you that you love and you’re okay with us sharing.  If you have a website or social media profile you’d like us to include, send that info as well.
